Founded in the summer of 2007 by University of Houston graduates Emily Hynds and Julie Gomez, BooTown was from the start a collaborative effort. Other founding members included Greg Hundemer, Philip Hays and Cathy Davis. In the three years since, Greg and Julie have moved on to other cities, but the ‘Town has grown into a edgy, indie theatre institution, producing a series of monthly storytimes, a yearly festival, several plays and more under the oversight of Artistic Director Emily Hynds.
OUR FANCY-PANTSY MISSION STATEMENT:
BooTown is dedicated to creating fun, original, collaborative theatre using interdisciplinary methods in non-traditional settings in order to cultivate new audiences.
